Let's make our village BLOOM
Several people attended a public meeting on 27 February to discuss taking part in the East Midlands in Bloom competition this year. The group consisted of members of the public and 2 borough councillors. It was unanimously agreed that we should participate in the competition for the following reasons:

Keyworth is located 7 miles south east of West Bridgford, with good access to the A46. The population has remained fairly stable over recent years at around 7,500. The village possesses a full range of local facilities including a health centre, post office, Parish Council Hall, churches, nursery and primary schools. For daily requirements there are shops in the centre of the village including a general store, supermarkets, newsagents, butcher, chemist, hairdressers, banks, estate agent, public houses, restaurants, take-aways and a garage/petrol station. There are also playing fields, which offer outdoor sports facilities and a leisure centre with a swimming pool. A frequent bus service to Nottingham is also available.
