Cllr Jane Gracey
I have been co-opted to the Parish Council in 2016. My main motivation for joining stems from seeing and living with many changes in Keyworth over the years. I have experienced life here as a child, teenager and adult, now a parent myself. The village has grown in many ways and I would like to help develop continuing opportunities and facilities for younger/teenage residents as well as the older ones. It is important to me that Keyworth maintains enough community appeal for people to want to live here, without becoming a soulless commuter town.
I attended Crossdale Drive Primary school, followed by South Wolds Secondary as a child. My own three sons have done the same; one is still at Crossdale, one at South Wolds and one is now at University. Over the years I have had lots of input with the schooling and leisure activities around Keyworth, particularly the Keyworth Scouts where I have been a helper. I am keen on swimming and cycling and do these as often as I get chance.
For work, I help families to cope with their loved ones who have dementia. I work across Nottinghamshire and am helping to expand the services available.
I also work as a call handler for the ambulance service in my spare time.
