Friends of Keyworth Leisure Centre
We are a group of about 600 local Residents that feel strongly about having local leisure centres and object to the Borough Council’s long term plan to reduce their number to just 3, which would involve the closure of Keyworth. We believe in this for reasons of public health, sustainable communities and environmental impact.
Our aims are:
- Working towards the Keyworth Leisure Centre being well used and successful
- Engaging with the operator of the Leisure Centre in supportive and constructive discussion about the Service offered and their performance.
- Lobbying Rushcliffe Borough Council to change its long term Strategy for Leisure Centres which, while now on hold, indicates the closure of smaller Centres such as Keyworth.
- To lobby on behalf of the Centre users.
