Come and Join the Bricklayers

I know this sounds strange, but our aim is to build people. Working from the best materials, using tried and tested methods, to a plan that will end with an imaginative and interesting end result; everyone at Keyworth Primary and Nursery School is in the process of building: children and staff – learning, growing, improving.

In our Foundation department the children are given the most secure start to their education. Secure because we believe that children who are under 5 need the best relationship between home and school. We work with the understanding that children come from families, so we make time to talk with parents and share ideas through workshops and visits.

So we lay the foundations with our two year olds who are just beginning to find friends and become a little more independent from parents. In the term after children turn 3 they can use their 15hr free entitlement for all morning or afternoon sessions.

During the year in which the child becomes 5 we build them up to being able to access full time education as they complete their Foundation experience.

The children move out of Foundation into Key Stage 1 where they begin to access the rest of what the school has to offer. As we have a super-sized building we have different rooms dedicated to different purposes; the ICT suite, a science and technology room and an art room. We provide the opportunity for individual instrumental.

The school is very inclusive, taking each child as an individual and seeks to help them progress by unlocking their potential, whatever their ability, as our KS 2 test results verify. We are fully committed to delivering a broad curriculum that interests all pupils.

We have a thriving Friends group, working to benefit the school and building our community through fun family events. We also host 'The Hideout' – an after-school and holiday time care provider.

We welcome visits from anyone in the community, but especially if you are looking to see if we are the right place for your child. Come and see the bricklayers in action!
