Cllr Brian Watts

My name is Brian Watts. I was born on Carlton Road, in Nottingham. I was a keen cyclist for many years, being a member of the Clarion Cycling Club. I have been married to Sue since 1966; we have two sons, now both left home. As a family, we camped and then had a touring caravan for many years, travelling all over Europe. We had to change our holiday style after I lost my legs in 2010.

Sue and myself have lived in Keyworth since 1967, where our two sons were born and raised. I had a period as a shop steward, and then a senior shop steward representing 150+ skilled engineers. For my last 15 years or so at work, I was employed as a manager looking after the Fire Service department of a national fire alarm company in the Midlands.

I joined Keyworth Parish Council in 2011, where I hope that I may make a contribution to the village where I have chosen to live since 1967. I do believe that Councillors are in place to represent the inhabitants of the village and not promote their own views.

My hobbies are reading, photography and travel. I am also a founder member of Keyworth Archery Club, and have a raised-bed allotment on the Willow Brook/Selby Lane site.
