Keyworth Show - a family fun day out with proceeds in aid of community projects and activities

The Keyworth Show is a community event held annually on the second Saturday in July. It is situated on the Keyworth Playing Fields, also known as the Rectory Playing Fields, and consists of entertainments, side-shows, stalls, fun-fair, craft fair, dog show, classic cars, grand prize draw and a horticultural, arts and crafts show – something for all the family.

The Show is organised each year by the Keyworth Show Committee which is made up of enthusiastic volunteers from the community. The prime objective of the Committee is to create a 'Family Fun Day' attracting visitors both from our village and surrounding areas of South Nottinghamshire and North Leicestershire.

Traditionally the Show was run by the Keyworth Playing Fields Association for the benefit of sports clubs in the village. After the dissolution of the KPFA in 2014 the Keyworth Show Committee was established. A new constitution was drawn up and this was adopted on 26th November 2014. This enabled the Committee to have full control and flexibility with funds that are raised from the annual village Show and to allocate a portion of the surplus to projects and activities which are of benefit to the whole community. From the 2015 Keyworth Show £4,250 was available which provided donations to 18 worthy causes. In addition to this, many other charities, organisations and the general public benefited from the event. In particular the Show provides a platform for many of the local charities who attend to raise funds.

Helpers are always much appreciated, particularly on the day of the Show which in 2016 will be Saturday 9th July.
