The Mothers' Union is a world-wide society whose aim is the advancement of the Christian religion in the sphere of family life.

Its objectives are:
To uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and to promote its wider understanding.
To encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church.
To maintain a worldwide fellowship of Christians, united in prayer, worship and service.
To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children.
To help those whose family life has met with adversity.

We have Speakers, Quiet Days, Services, Outings and Meetings with other branches. Ladies knit for Premature Baby Units in hospitals, make cotton gowns for still-born babies and knit teddy bears. We also help at prison visiting (running the crèche and serving teas) and hospital visiting. Away From It All (AFIA) holidays for families in need (on the East Coast). We also prove toilet bags for FRAMEWORK and Christmas Hampers. There is a world-wide fund administered from

Mary Sumner House, London, which sends immediate help to any disaster area.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month in the Parochial Church Hall.
