Riding for the Disabled

Registered Charity No: 1073742

South Notts RDA is a small and informal group who meet every Wednesday morning during term time only at Lings Lane Riding Stables, Keyworth.

Marjorie and Tim generously allow us to use their facilities and provide four/five excellent beginner's ponies with a quiet temperament but bags of character.

Poppy, Dawn, Tyler and Barney are old hands at the RDA routine. Candy is the new pony on the block and like her stable companions loves to nudge your pockets looking for treats. Our helpers are a mix of people who love the outdoors in the company of horses and children.

Previous experience with horses is not a problem as training is available.

Without volunteers we are unable to offer our children the opportunity to interact with the ponies.

If you can spare two hours on a Wednesday we would love to welcome you.

Nottingham Group RDA is a friendly group of volunteers who meet at Lings Lane Riding Stables on Thursdays during school term time. We give riding lessons as therapy to children from 3 special schools as well as lessons to some individual riders.

We generally have four ponies in each lesson with most riders requiring a pony leader and two sidewalkers which means, in order for the smooth running of sessions, we need a large group of volunteers.

If you love the outdoors, enjoy working with children and ponies and have a few hours to spare on a Thursday you may like to volunteer to be part of our team.

Previous experience with ponies is not essential as training will be given.

If you would like to come along and meet us we would love to welcome you.
