"South Wolds is a popular, high attaining secondary school. Students achieve outstanding exam results, indeed in 2015 government performance data shows that it is one of the five highest performing schools in Nottinghamshire. The school also has one of the most successful sixth form centres in the county and was identified by the Sutton Trust as one of the top 100 state schools to send students to Oxford and Cambridge.

The school's overt aim is to enable all students to achieve their academic and social potential. Their success in this aim was recognised by OFSTED who judged Pupil Attainment and Care, Guidance and Support to be outstanding. A unique judgement that reflects the success of the school in helping youngsters achieve and ensuring they have the care that they need during their time in secondary school.

Students who attend the school are a credit to their families and community. They participate in a wide range of school and community events. OFSTED reported that:

"Students attitudes to learning and their behaviour both in lessons and around the school are good"
"Students value their school community and willingly take on responsibilities beyond the classroom"
"Students show respect for different views and beliefs and have a strong sense of common values within the school community"

The school enjoys good relationships with its community. Facilities are used for many local events and they work closely with Rushcliffe Borough Council to ensure the local community can enjoy the use of the sports facilities during the evenings, weekends and school holidays. Relationships with the local primary schools are very strong and there are lots of opportunities for younger students to participate in events at South Wolds.

As a Specialist Language College we offer a diverse range of language qualifications for students to study all the way through to A-Level. There are also many opportunities for youngsters and their families to participate in exchange visits with schools in France, Spain and Germany. Youngsters can excel in any area of our curriculum. Attainment is high across all subject areas including English, Maths, Science, PE, Humanities, Technology and the Performing Arts. OFSTED judged the curriculum to be outstanding.

More information about the school can be found by visiting our website where you can keep up to date with school events or download a prospectus. Visitors to the school are always welcome but please do phone in advance to arrange an appointment."
